Weather or not!
by gary on Feb.17, 2010, under News, In real life
I am not a scientist. I am not an idiot. I happily place myself somewhere smack dab in the middle of that brainpower scale. On the issue of "climate change" I have always though that the saying "as unpredictable as the weather" meant something. Now I am lead to believe that because we have computers, cars and cows that fart we are suddendly responsible for the change in the weather. What audacity! It is a testament to man's arrogance to believe that we are more powerful than nature and galactic events.
What is a MET
by gary on Feb.05, 2010, under Sports
No, it is not a member of a professional sporting team. MET is the acronym for Metabolic EquvalenT. 1 MET is the energy consumed by the body at rest. For example sitting at home reading the paper would consume 1 MET while playing soccer consumes 7 METS. For a better understanding of how your activities corelates to Metabolic Equivalents please see this chart.

I am an avid viewer of the News and try to stay up-to-date on the happenings in the American Political Scene. This completely slipped by me though and I think it is sad that it was not reported properly. Thanks to the power of the internet and emails I am now aware of the honor paid the the USA by the Russians. Please follow the link to see the brochure and view the linked Power Point presentation for the story. The French gave us the Statue of Liberty and now the Russians 5 years after the terririst attack on the World Trade Centers, on September 11, 2006 gave us the Memorial at Harbour View Park.

Excellent site! Love the look; it's clean, easy to read with a nice color combination. Your article on We must be Idiots is a great analogy of today's healthcare issues, and what a horrific nightmare it will be for all of us. Thank you
The pictures are beautiful. It must have been freezing outside--you are a TROOPER!!!!
